It maybe that you have not heard about using hypnosis to lose weight and chances are that you sceptical which is understandable. But there is much more to being put into a deep state of focused relaxation to help you slim down.

We all know how difficult it is losing weight.  Combined with certain health issues such as an underactive thyroid, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), ageing, tiredness/insomnia and stress/low mood can contribute to weight gain or difficulty in losing weight.

Weight management hypnotherapy may help to control food addictions or cravings to lose a few pounds when it is part of a weight loss plan, that includes diet, exercise, willpower and support from a hypnotherapist specialising in weight loss.

Many people are turning to hypnosis to change their relationship with food. Hypnosis uses a state of focused relaxation and a state of inner absorption and concentration, similar to that of being in a trance. It is in this trance state that the therapist can help change unwanted patterns of behaviour to help the client to achieve their weight loss goals.

It is widely understood that there are deep seated emotional reasons behind our struggle to lose weight, and these become ingrained into our psyche over a period of time or behaviours that we have learned. Kim’s Slim to be Trim looks at any habits to help you to “rewire” your brain to change your behaviours and respond with a more positive outcome.

We also look at any mental health issues that may arise, such as anxiety, depression or stress as these maybe contributing to the weight gain. Cortisol is a natural stress hormone and creates a surge of energy in your body. It sends your body into fight-or-flight mode, temporarily pausing regular bodily functions and slowing your metabolism. Cortisol is created by your adrenal glands located in your kidneys and released when you’re under stress and can be harmful in excessive amounts and can lead to weight gain. While this hormone is essential for your survival, it can increase your appetite, and can cause cravings for sweet, fatty and salty foods, which means you are more likely to indulge in junk food than a healthy meal.

I will help teach you self-hypnosis for relaxation to help you manage your stress levels and the effects of elevated cortisol.  It is important that we learn how to control it rather that it controlling us.

Kim’s Slim to be Trim is a four-week programme that provides support, literature and hypnotherapy to help you lose weight. Kim is here to support you, but unfortunately, does not have a magic wand.  Kim is your facilitator/guide and it is your responsibility to make the changes and stick with them. Homework is also an important part of the therapy for example, filling in a food diary, participating in recordings or reading material that has been provided. I have had some good results with this programme so please take this into consideration before booking. However, Kim is here to support you to make the changes you need to lose weight.
